THE MARRIAGE

A couple was getting married in a church in Edinburgh, Scotland. The groom was waiting at the pulpit and hundreds of guests were anxiously awaiting the bride's arrival. Eventually, the organist began playing "The Wedding March" and all the guests stood up. The first bridesmaid entered the church, but on her second step down the aisle, she got the heel of her shoe stuck in a grate in the floor. The usher next to her, tried to pull out the shoe, only to pick up the entire grate with it, so to save any embarrassment, he took the grate with him. Unfortunately, the bride, resplendent in her gown and veil, had not noticed and as she glided down the aisle, she fell down the hole the grate had uncovered.
