FAITHFUL DOG

A man from Connecticut had to relocate to New York City because of his job. Although he could only find an apartment in a high rise in Upper Manhattan, he was loath to leave his faithful dog behind and so he took her with him, vowing to take her for long walks through the park at least twice a day. The man moved in with his dog and everything seemed to work for a few weeks. So much so, in fact, that the man invited his brothers family for a weekend visit. The brother brought his wife and their seven-year-old son, who was particularly overjoyed to see the dog. The boy played with the dog in the apartment, but he got a little over-enthusiastic while throwing a tennis ball. The boy threw the ball which ricocheted off the wall and straight out the window. The dog, probably not used to its new city life, trotted eagerly after the ball, following it out the window and down something in the region of 23 floors.
