HAMMERED HAMSTER

In Glasgow, Scotland, a carpet-layer was just finishing off putting a new carpet in an old woman's lounge, when he noticed a curious lump in the middle. Reluctant to start all over again and remove all the nails, the carpet-layer took his hammer and attempted to flatten the lump. After a few good hits with the hammer and a few stomps with his boot, the carpet looked as good as ever and the carpet-layer packed up his tools. As he was about to leave, the old woman emerged from the kitchen and asked the man, "Before you go, young man, you couldn't help me find my pet hamster, could you?" The carpet-layer mumbled an excuse about being late for another appointment and rushed out the door.
