PET CROC

A couple in Birmingham, England gave the staff of an animal rescue centre in the city great cause for concern when they rang to say that they felt they could no longer look after their 13-year-old family pet, called "Rover". The animal rescuers, who are often called upon to deal with such cases, requested that the couple bring the pet in to the centre, and they would try to find a new home for it. The couple refused, but gave their address and so the rescuers climbed in a van and went over to the couple's house in order to pick up their unwanted pet. Despite frosty looks all round, they were shown in and taken to the room where the pet was being kept, only to discover that "Rover" was in fact a crocodile. The couple appeared to have no idea that the crocodile was dangerous, and even allowed it to sleep in the same room as them.
