SPIDER TROUBLES

A Californian woman returned from shopping one day and was unpacking her groceries when she saw, among a bunch of bananas, what looked like a spider. Only that morning, the woman had heard on the e radio about the risks of bringing in poisonous spiders in shipments of fruit from South America. The size of the thing convinced the woman it was a bird-eating spider and she slowly backed away towards the back door. Shutting it behind her, she ran to her next-door neighbour, told her what had happened and her neighbour phoned the police. Not long after, the police evacuated the whole area, firemen pumped toxic gases into the woman's house and experts from the local zoo began a thorough search of the premises. Five minutes after the team had entered the house, they emerged, angry looks on their faces - the dangerous spider had turned out to be a harmless black wig that had somehow fallen into the old woman's groceries.
