SQUASHED CAT

A woman was driving home from work late one night, when a cat ran out into the middle of the road. The woman tried to avoid the foolish cat, but when she felt a bump she realised she'd hit it. She got out and found the cat behind her front wheel. Picking it up, she noticed the cat's tag had a phone number on it and decided die least she could do was call the owner. Finding a nearby phone box, the woman called the number and an old lady answered it. The woman told the old lady what had happened. The old lady then asked the woman to describe the cat. "Well," the woman hesitantly replied, "it's mottled brown, rather bloody and flat as a pancake." The old lady said, "Oh, no, you must be mistaken, my dear, my cat doesn't look like that at all," and hung up.
