THE ELEPHANT

In Budapest, Hungary, a travelling circus had set up in a large park in the old part of the city. To encourage people to come and see the circus, the owners decided to lead a procession through the streets. It was a huge one, with jugglers, clowns, acrobats, seals on floats, lions in cages and the star attraction, Betsy the elephant. The residents were cheering and applauding until suddenly, Betsy broke free of her chains and stormed into the crowd. Apparently, she had mistaken a small red car parked by the side of the street for a stool used in the circus act, and had run over to balance on it.
