THE HORSE
A Spanish farmer had hit hard times. To keep things going, he decided to sell
his prize stallion. The farmer was so poor even getting to the market place would
be a problem. He had to borrow a car from a neighbour and use a trailer that had
been rotting in the corner of the stable for years. Nevertheless, he made the
trailer as sturdy as he could, secured his horse inside and started off. Unfortunately
for the horse, the farmers carpentry skills were not so hot. When the trailer
went over a bump, the poor horse plunged through the rotten floorboards and was
forced to gallop all the way to the market place. When the farmer opened the trailer,
he was devastated to see his prize stallion collapsed in a heap. Not surprisingly,
the farmer was unable to sell his steed, although he declined an offer from a
merciless butcher.
