THE HUMAN HUNT
An English country squire, frustrated by a recent series of fox hunts and
thwarted by hunt saboteurs, decided to do the next hunt without a fox. He engaged
a young local man to make a trail of aniseed through the fields and forests. The
young man did just that, making an elaborate trail for the fox hounds to follow,
and then retired to the local pub to spend the money the squire had given him.
A few pints later, the young man was surprised to hear the barking of fox hounds
drawing closer, as he had made the aniseed trail lead back to the squire's estate,
a few miles away. As he ventured out to investigate, it slowly dawned on him why
the fox hounds were coming his way - he stank of aniseed! The man ran for his
life, but the hounds soon caught up with him, and subsequently licked him to death.
The country squire's weekly sport of man-hunting has since proved extremely popular
with fellow red coats.
