CAT NAPPED

An elderly lady was heartbroken when her cat developed cancer and had to be put down. The woman told the nurse at the veterinary hospital that she would like to bury the cat in her garden and the nurse wrapped it in a box for the woman to carry home. On the way home, she passed a department store and decided to buy some flowers and a plaque to put on the cat's grave. She put the box by her and was telling the sales assistant what she wanted when she noticed that the box had disappeared. The sales assistant told security staff and they started to search the store for the box. It wasn't long before a security guard spotted the box in a telephone booth. The box had been opened and the dead cat was poking out of it. On the floor of the booth, a young boy was lying unconscious on the ground. It turned out that the boy was a well-known shoplifter. The boy must have taken the well-wrapped box, thinking it contained something valuable, and fainted when he glimpsed the dead cat.
