DECORATING BURGLARS

A recent spate of burglaries in Sydney, Australia, had bemused police and shown a more altruistic approach to the crime. A man came back from a weekend break to find that his house had been broken into and his TV and video stolen, but the burglars had completely redecorated the house. The man told police he was delighted with their choice of colour scheme and their work was worth his TV and video. Another woman came back from a two-week holiday to find burglars had renovated her garden and added a pond in return for a set of silver candlesticks - "Better than any landscape gardening I've seen," quipped the woman. Detectives are offering up their houses to catch the burglars after finding out that some burglaries have involved improving the feng shui of residences.
