HITCHHIKER
A lawyer was driving to his home in Guildford from a conference in Swansea.
He spotted a hitchhiker by the side of the road and, feeling like some company,
stopped and picks the man up. A few miles down the road, the lawyer began to worry.
The hitchhiker had an evil look to him and talked in a menacing voice. The lawyer
then realised that he would be completely unprepared if the hitchhiker were to
threaten him, so he was relieved when he spotted another hitchhiker. He stopped
to pick up the second man, who was wearing a suit and appears very friendly. However,
not long after driving off, the second hitchhiker produced a knife and told the
lawyer to pull over and get out. Somehow, as everybody got out of the car, the
first hitchhiker managed to grab the knife off the second one and knocked him
out. The first hitchhiker, gruffly remarking "Amateur", took the unconscious man's
wallet and offered half the contents to the aghast lawyer, who refused the money.
Reading the lawyer's thoughts, the hitchhiker explained that it was his day off
and he was just visiting his mother in London.
