SECOND INTERVIEW
A US congressman was interviewed live on the television news. The most central
aspect of what he said was how successful the government had been in tackling
crime. He was especially proud of the fact that violent street robberies were
at an all-time low. On leaving the television station, the congressman went to
his car parked outside. Suddenly, a man jumped out of the shadows and held him
at gunpoint. The congressman lost his wallet, his watch and his car, but, best
of all, the thief also stole his clothes. The humiliated congressman had to go
back inside the television station completely naked, only to be spotted by the
reporter who had just interviewed him. Five minutes later, the congressman gave
a somewhat less confident interview.
