NAILING THE CAUSE

A man in Texas claimed that God drove a nail through his brain in order to save him for higher things. The man, a joiner in Houston, was messing around with his fellow workers during a lunch break when a nail gun went off, forcing a nail a little over one inch long into his skull just above his right ear. Had the nail penetrated any deeper, it would have damaged his brain and in all probability killed him. The surgeon who removed the nail recommended that the man have a brain scan, just to make sure that no brain damage had occurred. During the course of the scan, doctors discovered a malignant tumour. Surgeons operated to remove the tumour and the man recovered. Speaking about the accident, the victim said: "God put that nail in my brain, but I knew even then that he must have had a reason."
