CAKE RECIPE

A young boy wanted to impress his mother by baking her a cake on her birthday. The boy's mother returned home from work early that evening to find him hovering outside the door to the kitchen, so she asked her son what he was doing. He explained that he was just following the recipe for cake. Slightly bemused, she asked the boy what the recipe told him to do. He explained that the recipe said to fold the dough into a cake tin, which he had done, and then instructed "Leave room to rise" so he had left the room. He told his mother, who was straining to stop herself laughing: "I left it over two hours ago and nothing's happened!"
