INFLATABLE UNDERWEAR
A commuter in the Japanese city of Tokyo caused mayhem on the subway when
he accidentally triggered his newly-patented invention. His invention was a pair
of self-inflating rubber underpants that would serve as a lifesaver in times of
flood or when lost at sea. Unfortunately they were designed to grow to over 30
times their uninflated size, and did so when the man set them off while rummaging
around inside a pocket in an attempt to find a mint. This occurred during the
rush hour and commuters on the already overcrowded train were crushed against
the doors when it soon became clear that there was nowhere to hide from the expanding
underwear. When asked why he was wearing the pneumatic knickers on a train, the
man replied that his greatest fear in life was to be caught in a severe flood
in case it caused him to be late for work. A fellow passenger saved the day in
the end by puncturing the pants with a pencil.
