MISTAKEN IDENTITY

A well-known public school in England came under investigation after the headmaster allegedly assaulted a school inspector. Several boys had been caught smoking and had been sent to the headmaster's office for punishment. While they were waiting outside, a school inspector paid an unannounced visit and waited for the headmaster at the end of the queue of boys. The headmaster eventually emerged from his office, admonished each pupil in turn for smoking, and gave each of them a whack with his cane. When the headmaster came to school inspector he can't have been concentrating for, despite the man's moustache, he assumed that he was just an unusually tall pupil. Before the man could protest, he thrashed him three times on the hand with the cane.
