MISTAKEN SCARF

A woman travelling on an underground train in London spotted an expensive cashmere scarf on the floor of the carriage just as a man was leaving. Quick as she could, she grabbed the scarf, threw it out of the door onto the platform and shouted after the man as the train doors closed. Feeling good about herself, the woman resumed her seat in the carriage, but soon realised that people were staring at her. Then one of them, an old man said to her: "Madame, are you insane? That was my scarf you just threw out the door."
