WARNING
In a desert in Nevada, NASA was doing a test run for a future Mars expedition.
On the second day of the test, a passing group of local Native Americans stopped
to watch the strange goings-on. A NASA official spotted them and went over to
talk to them. He explained that the work was in preparation for an expedition
to explore Mars. The eldest of the locals considered this and then asked if they
could send a message for any life that might be on the planet. Amused by the unusual
request, the NASA official agreed, and took a message that the Native American
had written in his own language back to the base HQ. Several NASA officials looked
at the message, but none of them could translate it. A few years later, an expert
on Native American languages came across the message and translated it. It read:
"Watch out for these people - they come to take your land!"
