ZIP TRAGEDY
In Toulouse, France, a girl invited her boyfriend home for dinner to meet
her parents. The boy really liked the girl, so he was very eager for the meeting
to go well, so he expressed interest in the parents' respective jobs and tried
to show that he cared for their daughter very much. The evening seemed to be going
fine by the time they all sat down for dinner. The mother served dinner and told
him that she had cooked pheasant, which at that time of year was very hard to
get hold of and very expensive. The boy was about to start eating, when he looked
down and realised his zip was undone. As inconspicuously as he could he fastened
up his zip and, remembering what his mother told him about washing his hands,
he asked if he could use the bathroom before eating. Unfortunately, the tablecloth
had got caught in the zipper, so as he rose from the table and walked away, he
took the cloth with him, complete with all the plates full of food, the glasses,
bottles and condiments. To the boy's horror, everything smashed on the floor.
There was an awkward silence, before the boy fled in tears.
