WRONG CAR PARK
A senile old couple from Wellington went to visit the newly-opened National
Museum, Te Papa. As the museum was very popular the couple found it difficult
to find a parking place, but eventually they discovered a new multi-storey car
park about 15 minutes away. They spent a few enjoyable hours exploring the museum,
but when they left, they couldn't find the car park. They went up and down the
streets, but the car park had vanished. Thinking that they may have fallen victim
to some massive car-stealing scheme, the couple went to the police. When the couple
showed the policeman where they thought they had left the car, he immediately
knew what had happened. Trying to keep a straight face, he told them that what
they had taken to be a multi-storey car park was in fact the Wellington to Picton
ferry. Three hours later, the ferry returned and the couple picked up their car
and drove home.
